🔥 Candle Care Tips for a Longer, Cleaner Burn

🕯️ 1. First Burn Matters

Allow your candle to burn long enough during its first use to create a full melt pool across the surface. This prevents tunnelling and sets the “memory” for future burns.

• Pillars: Burn for 2–3 hours
• Tealights & Votives: Burn for at least 1 hour

✂️ 2. Wick Trimming

Before each burn, trim the wick to ¼ inch (6mm). This helps:

• Maintain a steady flame
• Prevent soot and mushrooming
• Ensure efficient wax consumption

Use sharp scissors or wick trimmers for precision. If the wick curls or mushrooms, trim it back to restore a clean burn.

🌬️ 3. Extinguishing the Flame

Avoid blowing out your candle, which can cause splattering and smoke. Instead:

• Use a wick snuffer
• Or dip the wick into the melted wax and straighten it afterward

This coats the wick for the next burn and makes relighting easier.

🧼 4. Storage & Cleaning

Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. If dust collects, gently wipe with a soft cloth. Leftover wax? Don’t toss it, melt it down to make furniture polish or fire starters.
